'Batman vs. Superman': Watch Video From The First Day Of Filming

Did you catch the big game over the weekend? The one between Gotham City University and Metropolis State University? The rivals faced each other for all of two plays at East Los Angeles College as production kicked off early for "Batman vs. Superman."

The Zack Synder production took over the field Saturday during halftime, and fans in attendance got their very own costume change. Since it was a home game for Gotham, the stadium was decked out in yellow and black with fans wearing team T-shirts and hoodies.

A four-minute video of the action hit YouTube earlier, courtesy of SadPuppy Productions, who cheered on Gotham City over the course of two plays. During the second play — a touchdown for Metropolis — a small fight breaks out, perhaps teasing some bad blood between the two superhero hometowns.

It may also be noteworthy that one of the people leading the production and giving direction to the fans referred to the movie as "Batman vs. Superman." While that title has yet to be confirmed, it has quickly become the very common placeholder for a final, official title. It's not clear at this point whether that will end up being the name of the "Man of Steel" sequel, but it certainly does drive the point home.

Neither Henry Cavill nor Ben Affleck appeared to have been at the game.

Production on "Batman vs. Superman" was supposedly not to start until early next year, but as David S. Goyer hinted before, production is indeed farther along than we had known.

"Batman vs. Superman" is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
