When "Glee" returns for season five Thursday night (September 26), it looks to be the beginning of a rollercoaster of love, loss and killer tunes. We already know it starts with two Beatles-themed episodes before paying tribute to the late Cory Monteith on episode three.
The show's return has been making headlines all summer, so before it airs, MTV News has rounded up what we know about season five.
All You Need Is Love
The show has paid homage to A-listers like Madonna, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga, but the premiere and subsequent episode will kick it old school and tap into the discography of the Beatles, including hits like "Yesterday," "All You Need Is Love" and "Here Comes the Sun," which will be performed by Naya Rivera and newcomer Demi Lovato (more on that in a bit).
And judging from photos, it looks like the Beatles-themed episodes will be colorful ones.
It's Got That 'X Factor'
Demi will be bringing some of her signature sass to the show this season. Naya Rivera confirmed she will be bringing her to the "dark side" and the twosome will be playing love interests. Little else is known about how serious things will get for Demi's Dani and Naya's Santana, but Lovato shared that Rivera was a "badass" on set.
Hellos And Goodbyes
With the show slated to say goodbye to series regulars like Heather Morris (who is expecting a baby), Amber Riley (currently on "Dancing With the Stars"), Mark Salling and Harry Shum Jr., they are also welcoming new faces. They include chart-topper Adam Lambert and Hollywood up-and-comer Erinn Westbrook.
The Quarterback
The October 10 tribute to Cory Monteith, who died in July, is reportedly called "The Quarterback," a reference to his character, Finn, who was on the football team and in the glee club during his years at McKinley High.
While the details of the episode are unclear, show creator Ryan Murphy has said that Finn wouldn't die of a drug-related death after initially teasing that may be the case.
What's Next?
The show will take a hiatus after the Monteith episode for the writers to re-focus after the loss, reportedly returning on November 7. And, if Darren Criss has his way, they might want to send everyone to have some fun in the sun, though he knows the locations need to be as realistic as possible.
"The problem is anybody who watches the show knows there's so much going on; there's a lot of characters. It's a lot of kids in various different places. And the reality is when you're shooting a television show, there are real hard, fast things you can and cannot do," he explained. "You need to maintain things so people can keep themselves in a certain box. That sounds negative. But they have to keep them in a frame that you can keep track of."
