'Walking Dead' Fans Plan Convention

Walker Stalker Con will feature appearances by many of the show's stars

Fans of the zombie TV drama The Walking Dead have started their own convention, dubbed Walker Stalker Con, which will take place in Atlanta from November 1st to the 3rd. It will feature appearances by several of the show's actors and actresses, including Andrew Lincoln (who plays lead protagonist Rick Grimes), Norman Reedus (the crossbow-toting Daryl), Laurie Holden (Andrea), Melissa McBride (Carol) and many more. Fans Eric Nordhoff and James Frazier, who run the "Walker Stalker" podcast, masterminded the event. Nordhoff told The Associated Press he expects it to draw 10,000 or more fans. Tickets cost $30 for daily admittance and upwards of $300 for VIP events.

Walker Stalker Con will allow fans to have photo ops with many of the show's stars, as well as stars of other franchises, such as Kane Hodder, who once played Jason Voorhes in the Friday the 13th series, and Danielle Harris, who appeared in several Halloween movies. It will feature a concert by Emily Kinney, who plays Beth Greene on the Walking Dead series and is also pursuing a singing career, having released an EP in 2011. And, among other events, it will host a Saturday Night Zombie Bash Party, where fans can dress up as the undead for late-night revelry.

The fourth season of the series premiered earlier this month, attracting more than 16 million viewers, and the show was the subject of a recent Rolling Stone cover story. In addition to inspiring the podcast and the convention, the AMC drama also recently inspired one of its actors to write an autobiography. Robert "IronE" Singleton (who played T-Dog on the show) has penned Blindsided by the Walking Dead, which tells the story of his growing-up years in Atlanta and his experiences acting on the show. It is out now.
